This distinction will be awarded on Wednesday 28th of November under the High Patronage of Micheline Calmy Rey, president of the Swiss Confederation, Joseph Blatter, president of the FIFA and Ivan Pictet, president of the Geneva Financial Centre.

Carole Vann and Juan Gasparini revealed confidential reports within the United Nations denouncing Human Rights violations in Iran and Uzbekistan. These were also published in the Swiss daily newspapers Le Temps and Le Courrier.

The Human Rights Tribune is an independent news website set up by InfoSud on the establishment of the Human Rights Council in 2006. Published in French and in English, the website is edited by eight journalists and covers current affairs, human rights issues and debates.

The existence of the Human Rights Tribune is linked to the Media21 project which aims at developing a network of global journalism in order to better understand the challenges facing our world (Human Rights, health, trade, humanitarian aid, environment, migrations…).

The Nicolas Bouvier prize (www.pressclub.ch) is designed to award the best journalistic contributions on the UN, the human rights, humanitarian, refugees, migrations, health work and international commerce. This year, 49 entrances have been sent to the jury who has decided to award 14 prices to a value of 23 500 francs.
