Marie-Noëlle Anderson, President of Afrikaviva announces:
It is with deep sorrow that we greet you to inform you of the passing of Prof. Joseph Ki-Zerbo in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on December 4.
Some of you had the privilege to meet him in Geneva on the occasion of the Ubuntu conference in 2003 and were able to listen to his wise and visionary words, at the same time humble and full of humour. He was our Guest of Honour and also Afrikaviva’s mentor and patron.
With his passing, the African continent has lost one of its last true Wise Men. May his teachings, his vision and his commitment to the African continent continue to inspire us all and remain a beacon for the younger generations.
To his wife, his children and extended family, Afrikaviva conveys sincere condolences and a message of deep sympathy.
